Kick off Ourfest weekend with a very special edition of Porkroll at Broad Hall on Friday, October 9th. Join us as we welcome special guest Derrick Carter–a pinnacle of the Chicago nightlife and queer party scene loved for his free-flowing sets that traverse outside of classic-house club sounds, seamlessly incorporating old-school disco, soul, jazz, and other genres worldwide.

A pioneer of Chicago’s 1990s house scene who began DJing at just nine years old, Derrick Carter has established himself as an international dance music legend known for his flawless technical skill, joyful crowd control, and genre-defying sets that blend house with disco, soul, and jazz. After cutting his teeth in the local underground and working at Gramaphone Records, Carter expanded his footprint into groundbreaking production work, releasing influential early ambient techno with Symbols & Instruments, debuting his soulful solo project Sound Patrol, and co-founding the acclaimed Classic label alongside Luke Solomon. Driven by his signature "Boompty Boomp" grooves, landmark releases like Where U At? and Squaredancing In A Round House, and an unwavering commitment to underground authenticity over conventional commercial standards, he remains one of the most revered and influential figures in global club culture.

Warming up the room for Derrick is Philadelphia’s own Chris Urban. Chris’ passion for all genres of house music shines through in his infectious sets.

Washington DC-based Tommy C, known for his influential role in the DC queer music scene and supporting events around the country like Honcho Campout. Tommy brings his booming mix of house and techno to the foundation room. Joining Tommy in the foundation room will be Porkroll producer and resident DJ Redevil.

Get there early to catch the very first beat from this incredible lineup! We open at 9pm and go until 2am. Broad Hall is located at 699 N. Broad Street and is easily accessible via the Broad Street subway at the Broad and Fairmount stop.
